How Does A Non-Surgical Face Lift Work?
Our experts help clients in and around Mayfair look and feel fantastic, using non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Today, our experts are focusing on non-surgical face lifts, which are also called PDO thread lifts, which can help fix loose skin. Read on to learn more about them, their benefits, and what treatment looks like.
What is a non-surgical face lift?
It’s a precise treatment that carefully inserts surgical threads into targeted areas of the face. This encourages the skin to rejuvenate with many anti-ageing benefits – all without the need to go under the knife.
Why have a non-surgical face lift?
The treatment is long-lasting, with minimal side effects, downtime and risks – and it’s much less invasive than surgical procedures. Some of the benefits of non-surgical facelifts include tighter skin; a more contoured appearance; reduced lines and wrinkles; and a generally more youthful appearance. Women and men both opt to have treatment and cite the cost and smaller commitment needed (as compared to surgery) as key reasons.
What results can I expect?
PDO thread lifts are placed at key points under the skin which prompt it to produce collagen, a skin protein that helps achieve youthful elasticity. So, not only can you take advantage of the tightening and lifting effect of the threads, but you can also achieve skin rejuvenation over time. Results develop over 3-4 months and can last up to 24 months, though it’s important that results do vary from client to client – after all, everyone’s skin (and concerns) are slightly different.
What type of thread lift do you use?
We use PDO Thread Rejuvenation, which involves triples and spirals of thread (rather than a single strand) for enhanced results. The threads are made of a surgical-quality synthetic material called polydioxanone, with over 30 years of use in a medical context. The threads can be inserted precisely and comfortably, and it’s recognised as being a safe and effective face lift treatment.
What are some dos and don’ts of non-surgical face lifts?
You may want to take over-the-counter pain relief to manage discomfort caused by your face lift, and you’ll need to avoid touching your face in the early days. You’ll be given guidance about aftercare for best results, but generally, avoid make-up, exercise, heat treatments and alcohol in the first few days after PDO Thread Rejuvenation.
What other treatments could I try?
You could achieve a rejuvenated effect with treatments like chemical peels, and anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers can target signs of ageing, including lines and wrinkles. Our experts will advise you on the best options for your skin, whether it’s a PDO thread lift or something else.
