Enhance your smile

At Medisha Clinic we believe that all smiles are lovely, but many clients want to enhance and rebalance what they have to make the most of their natural beauty. When we smile our lips draw back, revealing teeth and gums. A gummy smile is one which shows more gum than a client wishes.

FAQS about Gummy Smile Treatment

Answer

To treat a gummy smile we inject Botox in the area between your upper lip and nose. Botox blocks the signals which cause muscles to contract, reducing the movement of the muscles which elevate the upper lip when you smile. This simple, quick treatment allows you to smile with confidence, showing your teeth but not your gums.

Answer

There are several ways to treat a gummy smile, including surgery to reshape the gums, but Botox injections have several advantages:

  • Botox injections are minimally invasive and cause little discomfort
  • Recovery is immediate
  • Botox is much more affordable than surgical options
  • Results look natural
  • Injection sites can be adjusted depending on the desired results.

Answer

Botox is effective for 3-4 months in most clients, requiring touch-up treatments to maintain results. Over time, Botox’s weakening effect on the targeted muscle ‘retrains’ it to contract with less force, meaning that treatment results can last for 6 months instead of 3-4.

Answer

We apply a topical numbing cream to the skin before beginning treatment to ensure the procedure is pain free.

Answer

Results take a few days to show, and will continue to improve for around 14 days, at which point optimal results will be visible.
